GuitarRRRRRR!! - How to buy the first one.

Hi,

Well, tell me one thing, who don't want to be an guitarist? Or name a person, who don't love the guitars.

Why to buy a Guitar?

Guitars are the instruments of expression for feeling of many's hearts. They have
a different appeal, and are very much attractive in their own ways.

There are six strings and  fretboard, where you put fingers of one hand to fret the strings to form different chords, and use your other hand to strum them. When played in harmony, they can express the hell or heaven out of you. When you listen to the 'Tum hi Ho'(unplugged) by Arijit or 'Galiyan' by Ankit and Shradha, or  'Aadat' from Jal band, you wish if you could express your heart same way.

If you have the taste(not of licking with your tongue, I mean musical taste) for Nirvana and Led Zeppelin etc., then you might have thought of playing the 'Smells like Teen Spirit' and 'Whole Lotta Love' respectively. Guitar helps you to open your voice, and take out all those lines out of your tongue. Once you have the feel for the guitar, you desire to have one of your own.

Which Guitar should you go For?

Which guitar should you go for? Acoustic or Electric, the two most famous types. At this point, I don't have much knowledge of the types, but they say, they have different ones for Blues, jazz etc. of which I have not much theoretical knowledge.
Anyway, acoustic guitars are the guitars which you can play at any place, with your hands or a pick. For playing the electric guitar, you need electric connection and amplifier.

Electric guitars are preferred for rock music. Acoustic can bring melodies out of you. The famous acoustics are the Gibson guitars, with steel strings. Classical guitars are another type, which generally come with nylon strings. When you look online stores, the Gibson guitars don't come below $200 - $300. For a beginner in India, going for Kaps or Yamaha can be a better option. Givson can be found everywhere, and be used if you are low on budget.

If you are somewhere in urban cities in India, you may find a number of show rooms with number of options available. Else, these days the online options are available, see if they can deliver it to your home city, or town. If you go for the show room, do not feel shy to try the guitar that interests you.

Yes, pick up the guitar, hold it in position, and check if you can fret the strings, get the feel of the guitar, see if you like it or not!

Inside the Show Room? Check these things:

Few things to check, while you go to buy the guitar:

  1. Strings are not much hard to fret, I mean pressing with your left hand fingers(for right handers).
  2. Strings do not produce the buzzing sound, they should sound clean and clear.
  3. The neck is not bended or torsioned, it should be straight, else it would result in buzzing of the strings, or difficulty in fretting.
  4. The best wood is rosewood, then mahogany and maple etc. ask which one is used in the guitar.
  5. Ask if the body of the guitar(the hollow box), is made of laminated wood or solid wood. The solid wood guitars are costly and have better quality than the laminated ones.
  6. Check if the gluing is done smoothly, no outcropping of the remains of the glue should be in there.
  7. Also check the aesthetic appearance of the guitar, go for your taste, else you may curse yourself later.
Thats all I have gathered till now, when more knowledge I have, more I shall share here, so stay tuned. Subscribe yourself to the mailing list. Having any querry? please write in to me.

Thanks and all the best!

Listening to "Zaroorat" from Ek Villain and putting my Mind out.

"Zaroort", is one of the various songs in my playlist of the itunes software. While I am writing this line, following lines are being played.
"Mei Adhoora ji rha hun, har dam ye keh raha hun
Mujhe teri Zaroorat hai, mujhe teri jarurat hai."

Those lines just passed on through the player bar. Okay..wait let me listen to whole of the song first, then I will write further. I have not yet watched the movie but like the other songs of the movie such as Banjara, Galliyan and Humdard, 'Zaroorat' is one more hit from the same movie.

Song title: Zaroorat (27th June 2014)
Singer: Mustafa Zahid
Composer: Mithoon Sharma
Movie: Ek Villain

Love is all about living for each other and with each other, not dying for each other. Once you are in love, it is hard to go back. Even if you try to go back, you will feel the need(Zaroorat) of coming back to love.

This is not limited to the character portrayed in the movie Villain, it applies to every human being. Human nature is to love and get the love, so once you get the love, you will come back again and again. I think song could also have been titled as 'Adhoora' but yes Zaroorat is also good.

I think the best way to get out from the feeling of feeling unfulfilled(Adhoora) is to simply accept it, and then singing it loud, like Mustafa Zahid has done. Once you sing it loud, it is all well again, normal and peace.

Thanks for your kind visit!

"Kahin Door jab din dhal Jaaye" - Anand ( meaning of the song for me)

Hi,
Have you watched this movie "Anand" in which the lead character Anand(Late Sh. Rajesh Khanna) sings this song. Anand is suffering from a incurable disease and has few days left in this world. No matter how strong you are but the fear of death is such a strong fear that you can not act normal.
Anand is one of the extra ordinary people who is able to control this fear and lives everyday in such a way that everyone is surprised and is impressed with his lively nature.

Deep down inside he was upset with the God because he had other works to do which he could not finish in such a short period of time. This song is the result of that sadness which can make you cry.
He takes care that no one watches him while singing the song:
"Kahin door jab din dhal jaaye, saanjh ki dulhan badan churaye chupke se aaye
mere khyalo ke aangan mein, koi sapno ke deep jalaye deep jalaye
kahin door jab din dhal jaaye, ..."

Although the feelings behind the lines can be understood but it is a little hard to explain them through words. Death is coming to him, similar to an evening coming after the day, but it gets a little hard because there are some dreams which are getting born in the palace of his thoughts.

A normal person love those dreams with full joy and turns them into reality, he forgets his fate for a while and enters into the dreams for a while. Soon he has to face the night, but he wishes if something could stop that because watching dreams is human nature and he was not God.
As the movie goes on, the characters gets so strong that one can not remain without tears.

I remember, in order to hide our tears from the room tube light, which was switched off while watching this movie(Anand), we ran to the room terraces, before it could be switched on by other room mates. That happened in the 1st year of our college days at our hostel in KBH(Kailash Boys Hostel).
I admit that I was over emotional but 3 of us can not be over emotional at the same time. This song remains one of my favorite but because of my emotional nature I am not able to sing this as it is.

Thanks for your kind visit!

Tere mere darmiyan kyun likhiyan ne ye dooriyan..(Mohit Chauhan)

Song Title: Darmiyan
Singer: Mohit Chauhan
Movie: Pinky Moge Wali

"Rab jaane meri Akh kyun royi,
Khwab bhi tera vekhya na koi"

Means, Only God knows why I cried because I saw you  not even in my dreams.
This happens when you are so much in pain that it follows the path through the eyes and you don't even realize that you are already crying.
..Woww! I love the pain and the depth and height of this song. I love Mohit Chauhan and simply I can't resist but I listen to this song so many times at once. Whenever I feel sad, I put my headphones on and this song will help me to to give music and words to the pain inside.

I can feel the deep down inside everything that this song mean. Sometimes, I feel crazy of myself because I can play this song for about 10 times in a row and still I want to listen it more. Then I have to stop myself because that seems to be very much crazy.

"Pal do pal paaya tenu,
fer mein gwaya tenu"

Mean, I met you only for a moment and then I lost you..
imagine this happening between you and  love of your life. I don't want this to happen to you but if this happens then it can be tough.

This is so much painful.. and this song is giving words and music to get those feelings out because if they are struck inside can cause a lot of pain.

Thanks for your visit!

Give your ears to Ozzy and he becomes obsession

Hi,

Well the title of this post suits to me. I have observed myself that once I start to listen to Ozzy Osbourne I can't stop to listen to his songs and if this is video that it is a bigger obsession.
I love his songs and here is some of the songs which I love to listen anytime:
(1) Mama I am coming home
(2) Let me hear you (scream)
(3) War Pigs
(4) Life won't wait for you my friend
(5) Dreamer
(6) Dirty Woman
(7) Paranoid
..Ozzy is known as the prince of darkness, I don't know why.
People call him crazy because he does crazy things like eating bats..(I didn't saw that but I have heard so).
Although it is not always possible to understand the lyrics but I love the music in his songs.

"I don't want to miss a thing"- Aerosmith (one of favorite)

Hi,
Have you listened to this song? Well, if you have then, you know that this song is simply a Wowwwwwww!
I listened to this song a day before yesterday and I don't know the exact count for which I have listened to it in these three days.
"I could stay awake just to hear you breathing,
watch you smile while you are sleeping
While you're far away dreaming
I could spend my life in this sweet surrender,
I could stay lost in this moment forever,
..Every moment spent with you is a moment I treasure,
Don't wanna close my eyes, I don't wanna fall asleep.. cause I'll miss you baby, and I don't wanna miss a thing."
This lovely lyrics by Diane Warren and an energetic rocking voice of Steven Tyler and the complete music... everything together is a complete awesomeness. It will be hard for a person with little knowledge of music to describe this awesomeness.
I am in love with this song. Thank you everyone who created this song.

"Sun Raha hai na tu" from Aashiqui 2 - a review

Song title: Sun Raha hai na Tu
Singer: Ankit Tiwari
Hi,
I had not listened to Ankit Tiwari before but this song was a good introduction of him. I loved this song and it fits the story line of the movie. I was briefed about the history of this song by a friend. I was told that Ankit had created this song for his band may be.
This song was felt to be fit for the movie so was inserted in, and it became a success. Aashiqui 2 was a big musical hit just like Aashiqui 1, and till now I have not come across any song which has appealed me more than this album of songs from this movie.
This song is sung in female version by Shreya Ghoshal. Song depicts the emotions of the lover who is talking to God and telling him all his heart.

Thanks!

House of Gold & Bones

This is a album by Stone Sour. "Gone Sovereign" and "The Travelers" are my all time favorite.
I bought this from flipkart.com a few years back, but now it has stopped to sell the mp3 songs.
I have no such other reliable source for buying the songs.

Do you know any other good source to buy mp3 songs for Indians? I want to buy some new somgs but have no clear option with me.  I don't want to go for pirated music.

Bounce - Aaron carter

Album: Aaron's Party
Song: Bounce
A still from video- Bounce - Aaron Carter
Year of release: September 2000
Single: 2001
"Bounce" is a song sung by Aaron Carter, in his early career, he was only about 13 years old. I purchased this video from i-tunes store and I like the energy and the smiles on all the faces in this video. While watching the video you yourself will feel bouncing and it can make you relax for the time you watch this video. Aaron looks very much refreshing and cheerful in this video, and his lovely face can make you smile too.
You can buy the video from i-tunes store easily. These are the songs which Aaron sung quite well. This is long time since he has worked on his new album. I hope he soon does that.
