Movie 'Hare Rama Hare Krishna' was created during the Hare Krishna Movement, which was quite famous among the 'hippies'. The song picturization shows a brother asking her sister to come out of the drugs and join a sober life. It appears in the song if the sister (Zeenat Aman) doesn't recognize her brother (Dev Anand), either due to drugs that she took with the hippies or the years of the gap between their last meet and now. In a way the brother is trying to protect her sister from the drug abuse and a life of nomads. This itself signifies the love of the brother towards his sister, and the way he tries to protect her is the essence of the festival Raksha Bandhan.
